The REAL NOAH'S ARK : How big was the Ark ?

The REAL NOAH'S ARK : How big was the Ark ?
Approximately 4500 years ago a man named Noah was commissioned by God to build a huge sea going vessel ,this vessel is known by most people as Noah's Ark . Many of us as children were told a story which was illustrated to us by using the picture of a small boat like vessel filled to overflowing with animals . The pictures that we remember , no doubt , left us with the impression that the boat looked far to small for the amount of animals that were on board and if we were to view the same pictures now we would conclude that the boat would not last too long sailing the seven seas . BUT , is that childhood story which left such an impression within our psyche the REAL NOAH'S ARK ?
So , let us take a look at the written historical record which gives us the REAL size of NOAH'S ARK and one which clearly demonstrates that indeed NOAH'S ARK would have indeed been fit for the purpose it was intended to fulfil .
In the first book of the Bible , Genesis ( book of beginnings ) we read of the great and catastrophic historical global event known as the world wide flood . Where did the waters come from ? http://gen1rev22.blogspot.com/2012/03/noahs-flood.html Noah was told to build a huge sea going vessel that would enable him , his family , specific animals and any one else who would listen to him and get on board the huge sea going vessel to survive this global flood and re populate the Earth after the flood waters had receded from the Earth .
GENESIS ch6-ch9 http://nlt.scripturetext.com/genesis/6.htm
Within this historical account we can read of the measurements and instructions that Noah was ordered to follow :
GENESIS 6:13-16 So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!

14 “Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior. 15 Make the boat 300 cubits = 450 feet long, 50 cubits = 75 feet wide, and 30 cubits = 45 feet high. 16 Leave a 1 cubit = 18-inch opening  below the roof all the way around the boat. Put the door on the side, and build three decks inside the boat—lower, middle, and upper.

So we have a huge sea going vessel that is approximately 450 feet LONG.
                                                                                      75 feet WIDE
                                                                                      45 feet HIGH
                                                                                      3  internal DECKS .

These measurements would give this huge sea going vessel :
Floor / deck area of 95,700 square feet , equivalent to twenty standard basketball courts .

Would over hang a soccer pitch in length by approximately 50 feet at both ends .
Would be just over one third the width of a soccer pitch .
Would be just over 3 storeys in height .

A capacity to hold up to :
125,000 sheep .
520 railcars .

CLEARLY the REAL NOAH'S ARK would easily be suited for the task which it was commissioned to fulfil and did complete some 4500 years ago .
