DNA....ULTIMATE INFORMATION STORAGE SYSTEM :

DNA....ULTIMATE INFORMATION STORAGE SYSTEM :
In the age that we are living there is no excuse for not being familiar with that which we call INFORMATION . INFORMATION is all around us , we can not escape our INFORMATION age . We have come t
o understand what INFORMATION is and the importance of INFORMATION . Computer programs are becoming more complex and more complicated due to our ability to increase and develop , to a high degree , the INFORMATION storage capability of computer software and hardware .
So how do we define INFORMATION ?
INFORMATION is described as being ...Letters , words , numbers , symbols , Ordered sequences , codes , languages and meaning .
INFORMATION in it's purest form requires an INTELLIGENT Sender ( source ) of the INFORMATION ( code , language with meaning ) and Recipient ( receiver ) .
Put even more simply = An INTELLIGENT letter writer - letter with meaning and requiring action - An INTELLIGENT letter receiver . ie newspaper , book , computer programme etc .
All of the above definitions of INFORMATION require INTELLIGENCE .
SO , can we apply the same rules of INFORMATION to living organisms to determine the requirement of an INTELLIGENT source for the complex living organisms that inhabit our planet ?
DNA :
All living organisms have DNA ( deoxyribonucleic acid ) this DNA is 2 millionths of a millimeter thick and is of a double helix structure ( resulting in interlinking chemical letters and words ), it has four chemical letters A ( adenine ) , G ( guanine ) , T ( thymine ) and C ( cystocine ) . These four chemical letters make up the three letter words of the genetic code which result in producing the 20 amino acids that make up the 50,000 proteins of the human body . These chemical letters , are arranged in many definite sequences in order to produce the different 50,000 proteins . All of the proteins have to be encoded in such a way that protein synthesis can proceed optimally , combining the correct quantities of the required substances . There are approximately 3 billion genetic letters within human DNA .

Information content in a pinhead of human DNA .
Professor Werner Gitt :
The amount of information that could be stored in a pinhead’s volume of DNA is staggering. It is the equivalent information content of a pile of paperback books 500 times as tall as the distance from earth to the moon, each with a different, yet specific content
W. Gitt, Dazzling Design in Miniature, Creation 20(1):6, December 1997–February 1998.
-----
Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, commented that .....
"DNA is like a software program, only much more complex than anything we've ever devised."
-----
Michael Denton :
A teaspoon of DNA, according to molecular biologist Michael Denton, could contain all the information needed to build the proteins for all the species of organisms that have ever lived on the earth, and "there would still be enough room left for all the information in every book ever written" (Evolution: A Theory in Crisis, 1996, p. 334).
-----
Dr. Stephen Meyer, director of the Center for Science and Culture at the Discovery Institute in Seattle, Wash., "was that DNA actually stores information—the detailed instructions for assembling proteins—in the form of a four-character digital code" (quoted by Lee Strobel, The Case for a Creator, 2004, p. 224).
-----
"The coding regions of DNA," explains Dr. Stephen Meyer, "have exactly the same relevant properties as a computer code or language" (quoted by Strobel, p. 237 )
-----
Each cell with genetic information, from bacteria to man, according to molecular biologist Michael Denton, consists of "artificial languages and their decoding systems, memory banks for information storage and retrieval, elegant control systems regulating the automated assembly of parts and components, error fail-safe and proof-reading devices utilized for quality control, assembly processes involving the principle of prefabrication and modular construction . . . [and a] capacity not equalled in any of our most advanced machines, for it would be capable of replicating its entire structure within a matter of a few hours" (Denton, p. 329).
-----
Dean Kenyon, a biology professor :
"This new realm of molecular genetics (is) where we see the most compelling evidence of design on the Earth" (ibid., p. 221).
-----
Dr Meyer :
"Evolutionists are still trying to apply Darwin's nineteenth-century thinking to a twenty-first century reality, and it's not working ... I think the information revolution taking place in biology is sounding the death knell for Darwinism and chemical evolutionary theories" (quoted by Strobel, p. 243).
-----
Pro W Gitt :
"The coding system used for living beings is optimal from an engineering standpoint. This fact strengthens the argument that it was a case of purposeful design rather that a [lucky] chance" (Gitt, p. 95).
-----
Professor Antony Flew : One time world leading atheistic evolutionary proponent ( not anymore )
"What I think the DNA material has done is show that intelligence must have been involved in getting these extraordinary diverse elements together," he said (quoted by Richard Ostling, "Leading Atheist Now Believes in God," Associated Press report, Dec. 9, 2004).
----
Therefore , the answer has to be a resounding .....YES..... for DNA requiring an INTELLIGENT source ........The evidence is overwhelming .
-----
Even the atheistic / evolutionary proponent Richard Dawkins agrees to the obvious INFORMATION content of DNA :

Richard Dawkins :
"There is enough information capacity in a single human cell to store the Encyclopaedia Britannica, all 30 volumes of it, three or four times over."
R. Dawkins, The Blind Watchmaker (New York: W.W. Norton, 1986), p. 115.

Signature in the cell after all?
"They go on to argue that their detailed analysis that the human genome (map here) displays a thorough precision-type orderliness in the mapping between DNA’s nucleotides and amino acids. “Simple arrangements of the code reveal an ensemble of arithmetical and ideographical patterns of symbolic language.” They say this includes the use of decimal notation, logical transformations, and the use of the abstract symbol of zero. “Accurate and systematic, these underlying patterns appear as a product of precision logic and nontrivial computing,” they assert. (...) This interpretation leads them to a farfetched conclusion: that the genetic code, “appears that it was invented outside the solar system already several billions years ago.”
But they don't give any credit to ID anyway:
"Can the claim of an alien signature in our genetic code be any more believable, or provable than biblical ID?
We know so little about the origin of life on Earth it seems presumptive to identify genetic structure that supposedly defies a natural explanation."
